Old Photos
Have you checked out the ‘Old Photos’ section of the web site lately? There are several class photos from our grade school years. Each one of them has unidentified classmates. Take a look and see if you recognize anyone. If you do, send the information to either Charlie or me. Let’s see if we can replace all the question marks with names.

If you have any old photos (class photos, photos of small groups of classmates playing or at events or whatever, photos of the Sebastopol area, etc.) from our elementary, junior high and high school years, send those to either of us via e-mail. They are a lot of fun for everyone to see. If you can’t send them electronically, mail hard copies to Charlie, c/o Scenic Solution Fine Art Photography, 1275 4th Street, #346, Santa Rosa CA 95404 or to me at 4740 Prospect Avenue, Santa Rosa CA 95409. We promise to return them to you without fail! top

Announcements and New Photos
Be sure to check the “Announcements and Comments Page” regularly (click the “Announcements” link at the top of any of the web site pages). Each time someone submits photographs for the class web site, whether it is for the first time or photos to be added to existing ones, an announcement is posted so we don’t miss seeing them. You will find interesting announcements regarding other subjects, also.

If you would like to submit an announcement or comment, just click the link at the top of the “Announcements” page and fill out the “Send a Comment” form. There is a link in the fourth paragraph of the Home Page by which an announcement or comment can be sent via e-mail to the webmaster, too.

Pictures are a big part of what makes our web site so much fun. If you haven’t sent any photos yet, please do so. They can be sent electronically to either me or Charlie. If you can’t send them electronically, send hard copies to either me or Charlie at the addresses above. We will return them to you.

If you have already sent pictures but it has been awhile, send updates. Life is ever changing. It’s interesting and fun to keep up with what is going on with everyone. top

Contact Info Updates
Don’t forget to let us know if your e-mail address changes. Just click the “Update Your Contact Info” link at the top of any of the web site pages and fill out the form. Use the same link to update your mailing address, also, especially, if you have moved since our 30th reunion in 1995. We will forward the information to the classmates in charge of the 10 year reunions. Do you realize it is only about a year until our 40th reunion?! top

Web Site Server Sponsonship
Charlie has put a lot of work into the Analy ’65 web site so we can all have the fun and enjoyment of staying in touch with one another. One of the ways to help with the site is to sponsor the server for a year. The cost is $60. Millie Ito Milne generously covered the cost last year. If anyone is interested in sponsoring the server for 2004, please contact Charlie. top

Assistant Webmaster(sort of)-In-Training
Charlie is teaching me to help out with updates and changes to the web site. If photos, announcements, etc., that you submit for publication on the web site take a little longer than usual, don’t blame Charlie. It’s my fault. I’m floundering around trying to figure out what to do.

In the learning process, I am providing Charlie with lots of chuckles and some moments of exasperation. He has the patience of a saint, though.

If you notice any problems with the site or have any suggestions for improvements, additional features, etc., be sure to let Charlie or I know. The site belongs to the entire class. Charlie and I are just trying to “keep it on the web.” top

Newsletter Editor-In-Chief
I have been editor of the News Quarterly for a year now. It is time for me to turn the reins over to someone else. If anyone is interested in taking a turn at being Editor-In-Chief (Charlie’s moniker), just let me know. top

Faculty
A bit of sad news. Leo Whalon, our Spanish teacher, is very ill. If you would like to send him a card, it can be sent to 788 High Street, Sebastopol CA 95472. top

Featured Classmates
Two classmates are being featured this quarter…….Peggy Herman and David Herrington.

Last quarter, Cathi Marshall showed us it is never too late to pursue our dreams. This quarter, Peggy Herman shows us we can get through anything no matter how difficult it is. Peggy commented to me, “I certainly have not been bored.” She is a strong, resilient woman……one definitely to be admired.

David Herrington takes us into his beloved undersea world. Have you seen the underwater photos on his personal page? They are beautiful! top

Profile of a Classmate - Peggy Herman

I have been married three times, have three daughters, and have lived in three towns. After graduation, I went to SRJC and Sonoma State, got my teachers degree and headed north to Alaska to seek my fortune. I married and had two little girls before my husband developed schizophrenia. The disease was so devastating and doctors could not help him. One night I went to bed, during the night Jesus spoke to me in a dream and told me "You are healed." I needed that cause things got worse. I ended up in a battered women's shelter with two babies, homeless with no job. Kind neighbors gave me a place to stay and I got a job at a pulp mill operating heavy equipment. I am remarried and have another daughter but, unfortunately, one of my daughters has developed schizophrenia and also just had a baby. My favorite Bible verse is Isaiah 26:3…..You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on Thee, because he trusts in Thee.

I am working with special education in a kindergarten class. I like eBay, professional baseball and collect vintage eyeglasses. Sitka Alaska is my present home. My husband is a fisherman and photographer. top

Profile of a Classmate - David Herrington

Like Charlie, and I am sure several others of you, I have had several careers during the time since Analy. After a three year stint in the Army I returned to go to Santa Rosa JC and Sonoma State (when it was a college) and took an MA in Counseling. I worked on an EdD at USF but couldn't make myself finish it....
I worked at SRJC for ten years, in the student activities and teaching in the evening college programs, and then had an abrupt career change to the California Department of Corrections.(I know there was a time I was headed towards being an inmate, but that didn’t happen...lol) In 2001, at the age of 54, I retired as a parole unit supervisor after 30 years of state service.
I am married to Pam, a woman I met online and we are avid, no make that rabid, SCUBA divers and take several trips to the Caribbean each year. I just finished my certification as a Master Scuba Diver... The reason we are so involved in SCUBA is that the underwater world is so beautiful and peaceful. There are times that the experience is better than others but each dive has a uniqueness that makes me feel one with the water. I suppose the most fantastic thing that has happened to me as a diver is the opportunity to see a moray eel and an octopus in mortal combat (Luckily they separated and the octopus was able to get away). It was definitely a "National Geographic" moment visually.
Pam and I were living in Sacramento and in Michigan where her children live. We recently moved to Bradenton, Florida for better access to diving, no State income tax and the home of many major league baseball teams during Spring training. As a side note, Pam was the host parent to Jason Lane who is Pam Miller Lane and Glen Lane's son when he was a minor league baseball player in Battle Creek. Jason plays for the Houston Astros. Small world, huh?
My thanks to Charlie and the many other people who have made this web site a reality. I know that I was almost an interloper to some of you because you grew up together in the area but a number of you made me feel as if I had been your friend for life. Even though all of us have not kept in touch as well as we could have it is nice to hear the life stories of those who have participated in the web site. It saddens me to see our memorial page growing but it is the way of life and God's will. Our prayers are with the families of those who have passed.
God has been and continues to be good to me and blessed me with good health, good family (extended too) and financial security. I hope the same is true for all of you. Thank you all for being a part of my life. top
