It's been so much fun to read about and "see" so many grads on the web site. I was in Ecuador visiting my daughter who was working for Smith-Glasgow and Company at the time and wasn't able to attend the reunion. It must have been great fun.
Tom and I moved away from the area 30 years ago and have lived in Oregon much of the time....for the last twenty years in Tumalo..a small hamlet between Bend, Sisters and Redmond. We expect to stay here for a bit longer...Tom is not ready to give up the horses and cows, and hunting and fishing that are close by....Right now he's in Washington bird hunting with friends that have a spread on the Canadian border..Bend is centrally located and getting to good hunting or fishing is easy.....Additionally our two children are still in the area..Christina is working on her Doctorate in Pharmacy at Corvallis...has three more years to go and Ryan graduates from Portland State University in Business and Criminal Justice this June......although.... once we retire we may opt to go elsewhere for the winter months...When we first moved to the area we were able to ride our horses from the house for miles and miles.... or just ride to the store to pick up a few groceries....in the last 5-8 years tho...the area around us has built up and homes like ours are being snapped up, demolished and mansions are replacing the original structures...To ride now ...we have to trailer our horses to forest lands.....I suspect we will take advantage of the real estate market one day and move on to a quieter spot...but for now we're just fine right where we are.
