After high school, I went to U.C. Berkeley, where I received a B.A. in English and a Masters in Dramatic Art. I married in 1968 and my ex-husband, Stephen Thewlis, and I spent two years in the Peace Corps in Afghanistan and lived for several years in Indonesia, as well. We divorced in 1982 and we are still good friends.
For a number of years I directed theater productions (mostly Shakespeare and musicals) in the San Francisco Bay area.
Since 1990, I have been working in the film and television world, first as an Assistant Director and, most recently, as a Producer. I am currently a Producer on Law & Order: Criminal Intent where I'm starting my fifth season. Prior to that, I worked for five years on the original Law & Order as well as a number of feature films. I'm a member of the Directors Guild of America and am very active in DGA affairs, both nationally and in New York .
My wonderful partner, Frank Millendorf, and I will celebrate our twentieth anniversary together in December. We live in Brooklyn, New York, but spend every possible moment in our beautiful house in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. |
