When I am not racing my car, I am a volunteering my time for Team Safety Events. Team Safety is a statewide program (Oregon Department of Transportation) made up of race car drivers who, along with emergency medical personal and law enforcement officers, make safety presentations designed for Oregon youth. Team Safety members are available to make presentations at schools and civic events. Team Safety members also display their race cars at public events, including safety fairs and car show. Team Safety topics include the following: 1. The dangers of drunk driving 2. Excessive speed (off the race track) 3. Drug and alcohol use 4. Safety belt use. 5. Bicycle helmet use.
